Sunday 28th November, 2010 dawned cold but clear, before the day was out we would see all 4 seasons, it was especially cold & windy most of the day but that didn't quell anyones enthusiasm & we had some fabulous jumping & lots of competitors.

Ring 2 was especially popular & this year we have introduced the junior classes in the 65 & 75-cm.  In the junior classes two of our committee members daughters excelled, Alana Livesay & Skylar McFarlane, certainly talented juniors to watch out for in the future.  All the heights in the Senior classes in Ring 2 were fiercely contested, the 85-cm especially had a huge amount of entries with local rider Judith Lowe & Cosevein triumphing over our junior Alana Livesay with Satchmo.  We had to divert the 95-cm into Ring 1 to enable us to get through the day before darkness fell & this was won by another of our regular riders at the club, Sonya Klebe & Glenrose Waterloo.

The class entries in Ring 1 were not so big but we certainly had some quality & the spectators were entertained.  The "bogey" fence of the day was definitely  a suprise, a rustic timber gate with a  pole on top & attached was the sponsors sign, The Float Centre of Mount Barker.  This fence caused havoc with refusals, horses crashing through it etc. & yet it looked so simple - maybe its because it was plain.  Local superstar Wendy Scheaffer & Koyuna Sunstorm won the top class of the day, the Strathalbyn Veterinary Clinic 1.30-mtr., 2nd went to Clive Reed & Lolita & Tegan Lush from WA was 3rd riding Tempus Fujit.  Tegan Lush of WA was en route to Camperdown Lakes & Craters Horse Trials after placing 2nd in the 2* at the Adelaide International Horse Trials & then staying with Megan Jones before travelling to Victoria.  Michael Clarke entertained us all day on the microphone & churned out the info on our sponsors.

A big thankyou must go to all of the sponsors, their support is much appreciated.  The Float Centre owners Sharon & Richard Heyneman brought 3 demo floats in for us to see, an Olympic, a Crisfloat & a Pegasus, they certainly attracted some attention & hopefully some future sales for them.  All in all, despite the strange weather we saw lots of riders with beaming smiles, happy spectators, fabulous competition, friendly committee - another good show -what more could you ask for!
